Opportunities for Establishing the Governance of a Victim Trust Fund within the Witness and Victim Protection Agency for the Recovery of Crime Victims

The study on “Opportunities for Establishing the Governance of a Victim Trust Fund within the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) for the Recovery of Crime Victims” is a collaborative effort between the LPSK and the Indonesia Judicial Research Society (IJRS). This study provides an in-depth analysis of innovative financing opportunities for crime victim recovery, aligning with the restorative justice approach in the criminal justice system, which prioritizes victim recovery.

Furthermore, this study maps out the expansion of the Victim Trust Fund (VTF) or Dana Bantuan Korban (DBK), broadening its scope beyond sexual violence-related crimes to include other types of offenses that cause physical and psychological suffering to victims. Key topics covered in this study include potential funding sources, governance mechanisms, budgetary needs assessment for victim recovery, comparative studies on VTF mechanisms in various countries and international organizations, as well as policy recommendations and governance frameworks. These insights serve as a reference for drafting regulations and policies related to the governance of VTF or DBK in Indonesia.
