Synchronization and Coordination to Strengthen the Role of Legal Counselors

On June 24, 2026, the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law in Riau organized a scientific forum entitled “Synchronization and Coordination to Strengthen the Role of Legal Counselors in Supporting National Legal Development in 2026 in Riau Province.”

This national-scale forum was initiated by the Deputy for Legal Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections. The forum aimed to identify challenges, regulatory needs, and capacity-building priorities for legal counselors in the field. It also served as an effort to monitor progress toward the targets of the Legal Culture Pillar under the 2026 Legal Development Index (LDI). The event was part of broader efforts to improve the quality and effectiveness of legal counseling programs.

Marselino Latuputty, Program Manager for Access to Justice and Good Governance at IJRS, participated as an online speaker. In his presentation, Marselino discussed research findings and evidence-based policy recommendations as an effort to improve the effectiveness of an inclusive national legal counseling program. The aim is to ensure that legal counseling can be delivered more inclusively and reach communities across Indonesia.
