Synopsis:

Sexual violence is a serious issue with broad and deep impacts on both individuals and society. Advocates, as a respected profession (officium nobile), play a strategic role in supporting and protecting the rights of sexual violence victims.

Therefore, the Indonesia Judicial Research Society (IJRS), with the support of The Asia Foundation (TAF) and The United States Department of State – Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), has compiled the book “Teaching Material on Capacity Building for Advocates regarding Law on Sexual Violence Crimes 12 of 2022 on Criminal Acts of Violence” to be used as training material to strengthen the capacity and professionalism of advocates, and to provide continuous legal support and education for advocates.

This teaching material book covers important topics such as explanations of articles in the Law on Sexual Violence Crimes and their intersection with other laws, procedural law specifics in the Law on Sexual Violence Crimes, support for witnesses and victims of sexual violence, the application of restorative justice in sexual violence cases, and practices for handling sexual violence cases.
