Public Hearing with Commission III of the DPR RI: Civil Society Calls for a Human Rights-Based and Inclusive RKUHAP

On Monday, September 29, 2025, LBH Masyarakat, together with the Indonesia Judicial Research Society (IJRS) and the Indonesia Legal Resources Center (ILRC), attended a Public Hearing (RDPU) with Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) concerning the Draft Criminal Procedure Code (RKUHAP).

Matheus Nathanael (Researcher at IJRS) was present as a representative of the Coalition to deliver input on the RKUHAP.

During the hearing, civil society representatives conveyed several key points, including concerns regarding the partial revision of the RKUHAP, special investigative techniques, the appeal mechanisms, and the protection of vulnerable groups.

Through this public hearing, civil society hopes to actively contribute to the legislative process of the RKUHAP to ensure it upholds human rights principles and provides adequate protection for vulnerable communities.
