The actual statistics of TPKS will unfortunately never be revealed, because the victims generally do not have the courage, confined by
shame. In addition, the family and immediate environment are not supportive, as well as the attitude of law enforcers who often do not consider TPKS as a domestic matter and not as a priority for law enforcement in their duties, so that it cannot be sufficiently proven by the traditional system of evidence adopted by the applicable criminal procedure law. In many cases, victims, who are generally women, children and other vulnerable groups, are unable – or not enabled – to speak out. TPKS cases become a concern when there are fatalities or serious injuries that attract public attention.
