Aisyah Assyifa

Researcher

Aisyah Assyifa is a law graduate from Sekolah Tinggi Hukum Indonesia Jentera. She received an award as “Outstanding Graduate” of the fourth batch of graduates from Indonesia Jentera School of Law. During her studies, Aisyah was also an awardee of the Indonesian International Mobility Awards (IISMA) program at Michigan State University, United States, in 2021. In addition to serving as a Researcher at IJRS, she has been a member of the Task Force on Access to Justice at the Attorney General’s Office of Indonesia since 2022 and the Women and Children Task Force at the Supreme Court.

Her interest in Criminal Justice Reform has led her to be involved in several programs, including drafting the Supreme Court Regulation on Guidelines for Adjudicating and Sentencing in Narcotics Cases, conducting an impact study on the 2023 Criminal Code (KUHP) on Indonesia’s criminal procedure law, analyzing the effects of the Sexual Violence Crime Law (UU TPKS) and related provisions in the 2023 KUHP on the roles of judges and prosecutors, and contributing to the drafting of the Government Regulation on the 2023 KUHP. Beyond this, Aisyah is also actively engaged in various programs related to Gender, Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and access to justice, particularly in child protection issues. She has been entrusted as the PIC (Person in Charge) for managing activities of the 18+ Coalition, which focuses on preventing child marriage in collaboration with various civil society organizations.
