Dio Ashar Wicaksana is a law graduate from the Faculty of Law of Universitas Indonesia. He finished his Master degree at Oñati International Institute Sociology of Law in Spain. Dio served as the first Executive Director of IJRS from 2019 to 2023. Dio was also involved in providing assistance to government agencies, including acting as the Vice Chair of Research Team on Assessment of Legal Aid Budget Policies that Adopt the Perspective of Vulnerable Groups in Indonesia at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (2023), member of Pokja for Access to Justice at the Prosecutor’s Office (2022-2023), and coordinator of civil society consortium for the formulation of Access to Justice Index with Bappenas RI (2019).
His interests on issues pertaining to access to justice and justice reform lead Dio to be productive in writing various publications in the form of books, journals and articles published in the media. Asides from being active at IJRS, Dio is currently registered as a lecturer at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Hukum (STIH) Adhyaksa, teaching classes relating to constitutional law. In addition, Dio is also frequently invited as a guest lecturer and speaker in national and international forums.
