KataHukum.id is an information portal developed by the Indonesia Judicial Research Society (IJRS) in collaboration with its network (Yayasan PEKKA, APIK Legal Aid Association, Rumah Kitab, ICJ Makassar, SAPDA Jogja, and LBH Masyarakat), with support from the Australia Indonesia Partnership for Justice 2 (AIPJ2), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), The Asia Foundation, and the Legal Empowerment Fund of the Fund for Global Human Rights.

On this occasion, we presented the technical profile and overarching vision of KataHukum.id as the “Google for Law” — a legal information data portal that is comprehensive, up-to-date, and easy to access. This initiative was born out of the challenges posed by fragmented legal platforms, which often make it difficult for the public to find accurate legal information. KataHukum.id aims to serve as a single, comprehensive platform accessible to the general public, including victims of crime or those facing legal issues. The collaboration between IJRS and BPHN that has been ongoing since 2019 is hoped to continue, ensuring that the provision of legal information remains relevant and impactful.

BPHN welcomed the KataHukum.id initiative, recognizing its potential to foster legal awareness among the public, connect BPHN’s network with other institutions, and support the work of paralegals at Legal Aid Posts. KataHukum.id also serves as a valuable learning model for BPHN to develop similar initiatives. BPHN expressed its commitment to supporting this effort by providing credible legal information, including comprehensive data on laws and regulations. The audience also proposed the establishment of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) as a formal foundation for further collaboration.
