On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the Civil Society Organizations (CSO) of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Indonesia held an audience with the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kementerian PANRB). The CSO representatives were received by the Minister of PANRB, the Deputy Minister of PANRB, and the Deputy for Institutional Affairs and Governance at the Ministry of PANRB.
During the meeting, OGP Indonesia CSO presented several policy recommendations aimed at strengthening the governance framework for the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Indonesia. These recommendations align with the Ministry of PANRB’s mandates, particularly in aspects such as government digital transformation, public service delivery, and good governance.
Additionally, OGP Indonesia CSO emphasized the importance of strengthening the legal foundation for the implementation of open government in Indonesia through a Presidential Regulation. This legal framework would facilitate a collaborative partnership (co-creation) between civil society and the government (Ministries/Agencies) in developing public policies that are transparent, accountable, participatory, and inclusive.
In response to the aspirations of OGP Indonesia CSO, Minister of PANRB, Rini Widyantini, reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to implementing Indonesia’s Open Government action plan. The Ministry of PANRB also expressed its support for civil society’s efforts to establish a stronger legal basis for OGP implementation in Indonesia.
