Naomi Rehulina Barus (Naomi) has been graduated from of Law Studies, University of Indonesia and has joined IJRS since 2021. Naomi is majoring in Criminal Law and writing a thesis related to the criminal liability of beneficial owners in money laundering schemes involving corporations. Currently, Naomi is a Research Assistant and works around Criminal Justice Reform issues.
Naomi and Bestha have published their article entitled “Sexual Violence against Men: Neglected and Not Taken Seriously” in the online media HukumOnline.
Naomi is currently involved in research on Execution of Recovery/Remedial Actions due to Environmental Crime and Narcotics Disparities. In addition, Naomi is also involved in policy advocacy and reviewing the Draft Law on the Elimination of Sexual Violence (RUU P-KS).
Outside the world of work, Naomi has also excelled in several competitions such as:
- 2nd place in the ‘Contract Drafting & Negotiation’ category and the overall winner at the 2019 National Business Law Competition, Pelita Harapan University (Theme: “Managing intellectual Property issues in Franchising)
- 2nd place in the Contract Drafting & Negotiation category at the Marvellaw UNNES Competition 2019 (Theme: Foreign Direct Investment & Intellectual Property Law)
- Finalist in the 2020 Essay Writing Competition held by WRI Indonesia (Theme: Tenurial Rights and Conflict Resolution in Papua)
